Onomatopoeia is when a writer means exactly what the lyrics say. In the song, “Old McDonald Had A Farm”, there is onomatopoeia in this song. The onomatopoeia in this song is “…moo-moo here moo-moo there, here a moo, there a moo, everywhere a moo-moo.” This is an onomatopoeia because the writer means exactly what he or she meant to say. I like onomatopoeia because it easy to write and understand what the person means and you do not have to go into large detail about it. What a good choice in using a song we all knew as kids and now we’re using it in an 8th grade project. Good song choice for something we haven’t heard in a long time. I can’t believe that I didn’t think of using this song, but I used “Wheels on the Bus” instead.
Wow, I can’t beleive you used this song. Thsis song has been aroung for ever and everyone learns it as a kid. I really never thought of this as an example I was always thinking of more complex songs. This song used to be fun to sing in school it is like one of those nursery rhymes.
